Fairy Tales | July 20-24
Long before glass slippers and fairy godmothers, there were stories — beautiful, surprising, and wise — told by people all over the world to make sense of the world around them. This week we dive into the real fairy tale tradition from all corners of the earth. We’ll bring together theatre, dance, and arts & crafts to explore these stories.
The morning session will be focused on theatre-making with Charlotte. We'll explore:
Acting games and exercises that bring fairy tale characters to life — the tricksters, the wanderers, the witches, and the wise.
Story creation and retelling inspired by fairy tales from cultures around the globe.
The afternoon session will be focused on dance. We'll explore:
Movement and choreography inspired by the physical worlds of our stories — forests, oceans, marketplaces, and mountaintops.
How dance tells a story without words.
Other stuff you need to know:
Instructors: Charlotte Hadfield (morning) | TBD (afternoon)
