Superhero! | June 15-18 (no camp on 6/19 Juneteenth)

from $130.00

Every hero has an origin story — and this is yours! Suit up as we dive into the world of superheroes, secret identities, and the powers that make us extraordinary.

The morning session will be focused on theatre-making. We'll explore:

  • Acting games and exercises that build your superhero from the ground up — what's your power, your weakness, your origin story?

  • Costume creation and design to bring your hero (or villain!) to life.

  • Story creation and world-building as we craft the universe our heroes inhabit.

The afternoon session will take place at our friends' studio, Staunton Clayground, where campers will bring their superhero worlds to life through hands-on making:

  • Pinchpot animals — every hero needs a sidekick.

  • Jewelry and toy trays — because even superheroes need somewhere to keep their gear.

  • Paint-your-own-pottery.

  • Still-life painting — create your own acrylic on canvas artwork like the super-artists you are.

Other stuff you need to know:

  • Instructors: Haley Roberts (morning) | Staunton Clayground staff (afternoon)

  • June 15-18 (no camp on June 19 Juneteenth) | Morning session from 9-12 | Full day from 9-3:30 | Drop-off up to 30 minutes before

  • Morning location: 211 N Lewis St, Staunton | Full day campers will have lunch at Silver Line before walking together to Staunton Clayground (123 W Frederick St). Full day pickup is at Clayground.

  • Morning session campers should bring a snack and water bottle. Full day campers should pack a healthy lunch. We do not have refrigeration.

  • Full day campers should clothes you don't mind getting a little clay on!
